A Personal Message from Our Founder
In 2023, my life changed in an instant. I was involved in a severe accident with a dump truck carrying uncovered rocks. Me and my vehicle ended up off the side of the road and ever since that day moving forward in my life has been the toughest fight I have ever had to fight.
I emerged from that crash with traumatic brain injury (TBI), disk herniations, a spinal cyst, sudden death (hearing loss), visual impairment and so much more, including Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) -a condition that leaves me in a wheelchair 60% of my time due to chronic, severe pain.
Suddenly I went from being completely independent to needing daily assistance from my family when my body won't allow me to do things myself. I learned exactly what it feels like to need help, to feel scared, and to feel completely alone. Worse, I experienced the frustration of trying to make healthcare workers understand my reality without anyone there to advocate for me.
